Heartwood was launched sometime around 2016 after years of a strong urge to create it. The ideas had by then been around for a while.
A Swedish brand that stems from passion for skateboarding and the strong urge for finding freedom. We wanted to create a skateboard brand with a slightly different approach (Yes, you probably heard that one before). Our idea was to help build a better world with our presence. Get people to grow that positive vibe that can be grown in the community.
We started with some accessories and skate hardware. The first boards wasn’t launched until 2018 and first out was the Fat Food Nation series. They got sold out pretty quick giving us the guts and inspiration to carry on our journey.
Heartwood has a strong connection to the forest. To the roots. Just like we admire people that finds comfort and true identity in the roots they bear. No more fake ideals attached to plastic identities. We all have roots and through them we are all connected.
The designs of Heartwood skateboards surely got to reflect the world we all share. Collective opportunities and problems. Even though humor and abstract reflections sometimes disguised the core message we always strived for telling stories.
